Test Drive Routes
|
by PAL Staff
Test driving your dream car can be fun. But don't get too excited and make sure you follow all traffic laws. The cops probably won't let you off a speeding ticket just because you're test driving. :-)
Test for Stop-n-Go Besides going through residential areas, driving down El Camino Real can give your future new car a pretty good work-out. Find a parking lot with speed bumps to check out the suspension.
Test for Handling Skyline Blvd between Page Mill Road and Hwy 9 has a lot of twists and turns, yet relatively flat, which makes it an ideal place to test the handling of the vehicle without the interruption of traffic lights.
Test for Power A great road to make sure your future new car has enough power is Page Mill Road. Driving West, the subject vehicle will receive a good work-out between Interstate 280 and Skyline Blvd.
Test for Speed Interstate 280 North of Palo Alto generally has lighter traffic than Hwy 101. This will be your chance to check acceleration, vibration, and cabin noise level. Please don't challenge the top speed specification in the brochure! :-)
